Sugarman Law, P.C. was founded in 2006 by Shari Lee Sugarman, Esq., and focuses in real estate law, loan modifications, foreclosure protection, commercial litigation and business transactions.  Every client at Sugarman Law benefits from the personal attention of founder Shari Sugarman.

Real Estate. At Sugarman Law, we understand the intricate language of real estate law, giving clients confidence that they are well represented in commercial and residential closings, settlement loans, landlord tenant disputes, lease preparation and enforcement, condominium documents, foreclosure protection, loan modification and more.

Business Law. For business clients, Sugarman Law offers representation in legal matters that range from incorporation and partnership agreements to complex litigation and succession planning.

Based in Deer Park, Long Island, Sugarman Law protects clients’ interests throughout the State of New York.

Meet Shari Sugarman, Managing Attorney/Owner

Shari Lee Sugarman, Esq. received her J.D. in 1997 from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, cum laude. She is admitted to practice before all state courts in New York, as well as the Eastern and Southern Federal District Courts. She is on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, Suffolk County and is currently the President of the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association. She is also a member of the Deer Park Chamber and North Babylon Chamber of Commerce and the Suffolk County Bar Association. Before founding Sugarman Law, she was with reputable firms such as Torre, Lentz, Gamell, Gary & Rittmaster, LLP and Lamb & Barnosky, LLP.

Ms. Sugarman believes very strongly in mentoring the younger generation. She has mentored high school students in Islip Terrace and Deer Park, NY as well as law students at her alma mater, Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. Notably, in 2012 she was honored with the annual Women of Great Esteem Emerald Award for her volunteer efforts with women and children and her leadership role in the New York community.

She is committed to open, honest communication and works with clients personally. She resides in North Babylon with her husband and son. When she isn’t working, you can find her on the beach or rescuing cats.


Meet Deborah Cruz, Paralegal

Deborah Cruz received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Relations from St. Joseph’s College and her paralegal certification from New York Institute of Technology. She has experience not only in the legal field, but also working with children. At Sugarman Law, she maintains files, has heavy client contact and correspondence, and communicates with attorneys and court clerks. She drafts legal documents and prepares wills and real estate contracts. She enjoys following the ideology of excellent client communication and client satisfaction in all the matters she handles. She resides in Islip.

Meet Rhonda Oltchick, Office Manager

Rhonda Oltchick is the first person clients connect with when contacting the firm. She runs the day-to-day operations for Sugarman Law, handles all firm scheduling, organizes and maintains client files and interacts with title companies and other law firms to facilitate appointments with clients. She resides in West Babylon and her two adorable grandchildren keep her on her toes. She loves reading all types of fiction, especially on a cold, winter day in front of the fireplace.
